MEET MRS. MELISSA MARTIN
PRINCIPAL
I'm Mrs. Melissa Martin. I am starting my 18th year in education. Graduating from Central Michigan University in 2005, I began my career as a first grade teacher in Portage, Michigan. During that time, I also received my master’s degree in educational leadership from Western Michigan University. After graduating, I became the principal at Arbor Academy in Battle Creek. These years were very formative in my growth as an educator, it provided a solid foundation of quality leadership in both elementary curriculum and decision-making. In 2017, I was honored to accept the position of principal of Riverside Elementary in Lakeview School District. I am very excited to be a part of the Mattawan Early Elementary school family and develop strong relationships with staff and students.
